Former Family Dollar HQ in Matthews sells for $10.5 million
After its nearly $10 billion acquisition of Family Dollar in 2015, Dollar Tree Inc. has finally sold off the brand’s former Matthews headquarters building.
Last week, Dollar Tree (NASDAQ: DLTR) sold the 354,518-square-foot building to The Silverman Group for $10.5 million. Family Dollar employed hundreds of people at the Matthews location, which Dollar Tree announced would be closed in 2018. The building is located at 10301 Monroe Road.
Silverman, a New Jersey-based real estate firm that is active in the Charlotte industrial market, will make significant renovations to modernize the building. The improvements will include updated lighting, sprinkler systems and dock doors, among other upgrades.
